Project Life 2016 | March 21-27

Hi there! Today I'm sharing a Project Life layout from the end of March, which included our Easter activities. For this layout I used the March Pocket Life kit from Citrus Twist, called "Sonoma." The kit included half a 6x6 pad from the Maggie Holmes "Bloom" collection, which was perfect for lots of Easter photos. The overall layout ended up being quite bright and colorful!

Here is the full spread...

And a close-up of the left page...

I had some leftover ephemera and a 12x12 cut-apart paper from the collection, so you'll see a few of those pieces sprinkled throughout the layout. Especially the flowers from the ephemera pack. Using them on several cards, as well as a layout I inserted in between the pages, really help to tie the layout together. I'm a sucker for repetition :)
I also added some gold glitter here and there because... why not!?!

Here's a close-up of a few cards from the left page...

I loved the mini pink glitter alpha included in this kit. They are from Heidi Swapp and just adorable! I used just about every letter on the sheet. I *might* have a 'Q' or 'Z' left!

The card on the left documents my daughter getting a stomach bug to begin the week. It was a rough few days, thankfully she recovered before the weekend! I used one of the exclusive cork pieces to embellish the card. I wanted a larger alpha for a few locations on the layout but didn't think the green alpha from the kit were quite right for this layout, so I brought in some October Afternoon alpha from my stash, in pink and aqua.

The "Love Love Love" card is from the 12x12 cut-apart sheet in the Bloom collection. I loved the multi-colored font! I hand cut a piece of gold glitter washi to overlay over the bottom left 'L' just to bring in a bit more of the gold glitter and give the card a bit of interest. The base card on the right is a journal card from the Citrus Twist kit, along with more of that pink glitter alpha and another cork piece.

Here's a close-up of the full right page...

And a few details from this side of the layout...

Lots more of the pink glitter alpha in this side! The "Life Is" journaling card is from the kit. This was perfect to document the our unplanned Easter visit with family. To the 3x4 photo of my daughter on the right, I added a rubber banner from the Bloom collection. So simple and elegant, perfect for the photo.

One final detail pic... just as cluster of paper, label and exclusive cork piece on a 4x6 photo. This is one of the best and simplest tips I can give someone that is getting started in Project Life. Instead of just inserting a plain 4x6 photo, find some "blank space " in the photo and add just a small cluster of embellishment. It really adds dimension to your page!

And that wraps up the left and right page of this layout. Before I leave you, I'll share how this week looks in my album with the 6x12 layout insert from my last blog post. You can find that here.
